WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER · FILM & DIGITAL
Your wedding, photographed the way it actually felt.
Full wedding days around Wiesbaden, Mainz, Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main region, photographed on film and digital. Unposed, lively, and built around the two of you rather than the seating chart.
Tell me about your day →A big celebration that still feels entirely like you
Whatever the size of the guest list, one belief runs through the whole day: this day is about you.
Not about what your aunt expects. Not about the run sheet. Not about getting every tradition right for people who aren't the ones getting married.
A full guest list doesn't change that. It just means more people get to watch the two of you have your day. My job is to make sure the photographs show that day the way it felt.
What couples often worry about
"We don't want to spend our wedding posing instead of celebrating."
The most common photo regret couples report is missing their own party: an hour of posing while the speeches and the dancing happened without them. Not here. I keep to the background while you're in the middle of your day. Group photos are fun and natural, even as we move through them quickly, so they stay part of your celebration and you're back with your guests fast. And your couple session is often the most restful part: I'll pull you aside here and there when I see good light, so you can take a breath, with no two-hour photo marathon.
"We're awkward in front of cameras."
Almost everyone is, and the approach is built for exactly that. There's nothing to perform, because the photographs come from the day rather than the other way around. Plenty of couples arrive braced for posing and forget the camera before long.
"What if the photos don't end up feeling like us?"
That fear usually comes true when a photographer arrives with a generic shot list. We talk properly before the day, I learn what matters to you two, and I photograph what actually happens. Your wedding, not a template.
"What if the editing looks dated in ten years?"
Trends age; that's their nature. My editing is referenced against the look of film, real colour and real light, which has held up for decades. Your photos should feel right when your kids find them, not just this season.
"We'd braced ourselves to be herded from pose to pose. Instead, nothing felt staged. We were at ease the whole time and could even throw in our own ideas. Rainer is basically the ninja of photographers: always there, never in the way. What matters most to us now is that the images put us right back in the feeling of that day."
Hi, I'm Rainer.
I grew up in Wiesbaden and have known this region, its locations and its light since I was a child. I came to weddings through more than 15 years of landscape and travel photography: reading light and places, staying steady when a lot happens at once. That steadiness is exactly what I bring to a wedding day.
I shoot film alongside digital at every wedding. The look leans on real light instead of heavy editing, with colour and grain that will still look right decades from now, not just this season.
And so you can rely on your day completely: I work with backup equipment, film and digital cover each other, and for a genuine emergency I'm connected to photographers I trust.
What you get
The whole day, covered.
From getting ready to the dance floor. We set the hours together, with nothing rushed off a clock.
Film & digital, every time.
Both are always included. Film isn't an add-on or an upsell, it's simply how I shoot.
Timeline help that protects you.
I'll help you place the ceremony, portraits and group photos where the light and the day's energy actually work. The schedule should serve you, not squeeze you.
A short escape for the two of you.
Twenty minutes away from the crowd at golden hour. It's often the part couples remember most clearly, and where the favourite portraits come from.
Weddings start at €2,400 for a short wedding celebration. Tell me about your day, and after a relaxed call you'll get a clear quote, not a brochure.
Tell me about your day →Rather the epic-landscape experience?
Want the big landscape without missing a minute of your party? A separate adventure shoot before or after the wedding is the other half of what I do, somewhere out there, just the two of you.

How it works
A relaxed call
We talk about your day, your people and what matters to you two. No prep needed, no commitment attached.
Plan the day around what counts
You'll get my help with the timeline, the light and the photo logistics, plus templates and materials to plan it all through, so on the day you can relax and focus on each other.
The day itself
You host, celebrate and forget I'm there. I photograph what actually happens.
The gallery
A few weeks later, a hand-built gallery of film and digital lands in your inbox.
"No pressure at the trial shoot or on the wedding day, we always felt in good hands. And we were surprised, in the best way, by how many edited photos we got and how fast (just a few weeks). If you want natural, professional images, even if you've never done a couple shoot before, Rainer's your guy. He adapts to anything, knows what counts, and won't let you down."
Common questions
01 Do you photograph weddings, or just elopements?
Both. Elopements are the heart of my work, and full weddings get the same approach: present, quiet, focused on the two of you. The size of the guest list changes the logistics, not the philosophy.
02 How many hours do you cover?
As many as your day needs. For most weddings that means getting ready through the first dances; we'll settle the exact window when we plan the timeline together.
03 Will you do the classic group photos?
Yes, gladly, and efficiently. A tight list, a good spot, fifteen organised minutes. Your guests stay happy and you get your party back.
04 Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, gladly. Most weddings I shoot are within about 200km of Wiesbaden and Mainz, across the Rhein-Main region, but I travel further whenever a couple wants me there. Since most of my elopement work is up in the mountains and abroad, packing the cameras for a trip is second nature. Travel beyond the local area isn't built into the package price; we just sort those costs together on the call.
05 What does a wedding cost?
Coverage starts at €2,400 for a short wedding celebration. The final number depends on hours, location and what your day needs, and you'll get a clear quote after one call.
06 When do we see the photos?
A hand-built gallery of film and digital reaches you within a few weeks of the wedding. Couples are regularly surprised by how fast it lands.
07 What if a camera fails, or a card?
Everything important exists twice. I work with backup equipment on hand, and film and digital cover each other all day. The parts of a wedding that can't be repeated are never trusted to a single roll or a single card.
08 What if you're ill on our wedding day?
There's a real plan for that, not just good intentions. I'm connected to photographers I trust, so a true emergency on my side still leaves your day covered. You'd hear from me immediately, not wonder where I am.
09 Can we have a second photographer?
Yes. For bigger weddings, or when two getting-ready locations matter to you, a second shooter can be added. We'll work out together on the call whether your day needs one.
10 How many photos do we get?
A generous, hand-built gallery that tells the whole day, not a highlights reel. The exact number depends on the hours and the day itself; couples tend to be surprised in the right direction.

If you want your wedding to feel like this
You've read this far, so you probably want a wedding that's a great party and still recognisably yours. That's exactly the kind of day I love to photograph.
The next step is one relaxed call, no commitment, to see if we fit.
